Regional, on-site, and virtual training for all JOC program participants and at at all levels  ( introductory, advanced levels, refresher) best assures participation on impact.  “Hands-on”, complete with training exercises associated with each topic greatly aids in retention and overall performance.
Introductory training generally includes an overall Introduction to Job Order Contracting principle and process.  Introductory training for a specific JOC Program also includes similar information, but also provides attendess with hands-on use of the JOC software and associated documentation.

All JOC program participants  participate, including cost estimators, project managers, purchasing, facilities management, etc.

Training should be mandatory, and scheduled annually, or more frequently if needed.
Course outlines, documentation, and certificates should be available for all training courses. Training content should be tailored to the participants and the specific JOC Program . For example, courses may focus upon line item cost estimating for Owner or Contractor cost estimators, and/or creating
independent government estimates for Owners.
